Photo and Description from Christianbook.com

Book Description : In a split second, a tragic accident ends Kathleen Somers's ballet career. Her dreams shattered, she returns home to the Soaring S ranch…and her first love. Suddenly the local veterinarian, Dr. Nate Sterling, goes from her ex to her champion. With the help of a lively poodle therapy dog, the cowboy vet sets out to challenge Kathleen's strength and heal her heart. He'll show her there's life beyond dance, even if it means she leaves town again. But maybe, just maybe, he'll convince her there's only one thing in life worth having…and he's standing right in front of her.

Caring Canines: Loving and loyal, these dogs mend hearts.

My Review: Her Hometown Hero by Margaret Daley

A tragic accident ends Kit’s ballerina career. She returns home to recover and runs into old boyfriend Nate at the family ranch. Circumstances put them in each others paths, not to mention a match making family. Feelings are starting to rekindle but will fear of being hurt drive them apart. As Kit heals and finds peace her confidence is restored. Could this mean a different career in the dance field that would bring her back to New York or a future at the Soaring S in Oklahoma with Dr Nate.

I really enjoyed this fast paced Love Inspired book. I found Kit’s story to be heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. The author Margaret Daley did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. I give Her Hometown Hero 5 stars. I recommend it to anyone that loves Christian fiction, romance, faith and wants to be encouraged and motivated to be a better person.

I want to give a high-five to the author Margaret Daley and publisher for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. The author provided me with this book in exchange for my honest review and I am so grateful for her generosity.

Miranda Warning by Heather Day Gilbert

Miranda Warning by Heather Day Gilbert
Miranda Warning (A Murder in the Mountains, #1) by Heather Day Gilbert
Book Description: Child of the Appalachian mountains, Tess Spencer has experienced more than her share of heartache. The Glock-wielding, knife-carrying housewife knows how to survive whatever life throws at her.

But when an anonymous warning note shows up in her best friend Miranda’s mailbox—a note written in a dead woman’s handwriting—Tess quickly discovers that ghosts are alive and well in Buckneck, West Virginia. Hot on a cold trail, she must use limited clues and her keen insight into human nature to unmask the killer...or the next victim might be Tess herself.

Tinged with the supernatural and overshadowed by the mountains' lush, protective presence, this twisting psychological mystery is the first in A Murder in the Mountains series. From Amazon

My review: Even though Tess is pregnant with her first child that does not stop her from protecting her elderly best friend Miranda. Miranda lives in an assisted living home and has a new beau. After she starts dating a old friend, she receives threatening notes from his deceased wife. As Tess try’s to solve the mystery of the threats both her and her family are in jeopardy. This book is a great reminder of what a true family model really is and the consorted views of the mentally ill.

Heather Day Gilbert did an outstanding job of brining the characters to life, they were well developed. I found Miranda Warning to be fun, suspenseful and fact paced. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves who done it mysteries, ghosts and lots of family. I give it 5 stars. Miranda Warning is the first in A Murder in the Mountains Series and I look forward to reading others in this series.

My Review:Full Steam Ahead by Karen Witemeyer
Full Steam Ahead is set on the Texas coast in 1851. Nicole Renard is the only child of the owner of Renard Shipping. She is willing to do just about anything to make her father proud and give him an heir. He never had a son so she tried to be one of the guys in order to please him. Darius Thornton is obsessed with making steamboats safer; it is his life’s goal. Nicole’s life runs amuck as she searches for the perfect heir for her father and tries to protect the Lafitte Dagger. Daruis life is full of hurt and regret but Nicole adds the right touch of sass to his life to get his attention.
I found Full Steam Ahead to be a great book. The characters are full of life, funny and inspiring. Karen Witemeyer did a great job of giving life to the characters. They were highly developed and authentic. I found this book to be entertaining and amazing. I don’t read many historical fiction books but the cover caught my attention, I am so glad I picked this book. The history of the steamboat was fascinating and factual. I give Full Steam Ahead 5 stars and highly recommend it.
