Book description: Texas socialite Claire Massey is living the dream. Her world is filled with designer clothes, luxury cars, and stunning homes. Poignant and emotionally gripping, A Woman of Fortune reveals the many ways we deceive ourselves and how resilience of the heart is essential to authentic living. Drawing on her experiences as a legal investigator, author Kellie Coates Gilbert delivers emotionally gripping plots and authentic characters. Readers will love Claire’s unbending determination as she strives to keep her family from falling apart and learns to embrace the kind of fortune that lasts.
My review: You are sure to fall in love with Claire Massey as she loses everything, family, home, fortune and every material thing you can imagine but the inner strength she finds is amazing. A Woman of Fortune is a fantastic book. One thing that really stood out to me is how far the consequence of our sin hurts not only us but others. I found myself emotional drawn to Claire’s story and how she handled betrayal, heart break and humility with grace. If I was to take one thing away from this story it would be you can survive the unthinkable. Family, true friends and faith is all that really matter not material things. The author Kellie Coates Gilbert is an outstand writer. This book is skillfully written with well developed characters. I can only hope the author continues this story. If you like Christian Fiction you are sure to love a Woman of Fortune, I give it 5 stars.
I want to give a high-five to the author Kellie Coates Gilbert and Revell for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. I was provided with this book in exchange for my honest review and I am so grateful for the authors and publishers generosity.
About the author: Kellie grew up on a sheep ranch in Idaho and now lives in Dallas Texas. She married her skydiving instructor and has two boys. She attended Boise State University and signed her first book contract in 2011. You may enjoy her other book Mother of Pearl.
How far will a mother go for her daughter?
Barrie Graeber has two great kids, a loving husband, and a respected job as the high school counselor in her close-knit community. Without warning, everything unravels when her teenage daughter, Pearl, is betrayed by friends and lashes out.Nothing prepares this mother for the helplessness that follows when her attempts to steer her daughter back on course fail and Pearl shuts her out . . . or when she discovers the unthinkable about her nemesis, the football coach.
Emotionally riveting and profoundly moving, MOTHER OF PEARL brings us into the heart of a mother bound by an incredible burden, who ultimately finds she must recognize her own vulnerability and learn to trust in something much bigger.
