Lone Star Standoff, Margaret Daley

High-Risk Reunion (Lone Star Justice)

            Lone Star Standoff
          Margaret Daley
Backcover: A high-profile trial turns lethal…

The next exciting Lone Star Justice novel

Presiding over the trial of a powerful drug cartel member, Judge  Aubrey Madison finds her life threatened, and Texas Ranger Sean McNair isn’t taking any chances. Protecting the widow and her  twins comes naturally to Sean—maybe too naturally for a guy who’s convinced he shouldn’t  have a family. But he can’t help wishing for a future with Aubrey…if he can keep her alive.

When a high profile trial turns deadly for Judge Aubrey Madison she turns to Texas Ranger Sean McNair for help. Both have lost love ones to the powerful drug cartel Coastal and are determined to bring them to justice.
Margaret Daley hit this one out the ballpark. Lone Star Standoff was differently a 5 star book. It was fast paced, non stop action, a touch of romance and a page turner. I enjoyed the well developed characters and realistic story line. The twist and turns of the plot kept me from putting it down. Lone Star Standoff is part of the Lone Star Justice series but can be read alone. Pick up this great book or any Margaret Daley has written you will not be disappointed.

Bodyguard Reunion by Margaret Daley

Book Description:

REUNIONS CAN BE DEADLY
Teaming up with an old flame is not what bodyguard Chloe Howard would call a smart move. Nine years ago Chloe and T. J. Davenport worked on a case together, fell in love, then went their separate ways. Now she's reunited with the fearless bodyguard to protect a controversial couple on a book tour through Texas. And the reunion reminds Chloe of dreams best forgotten. She knows she has to keep her emotions in check so their clients' protection remains their top priority. Protection that is the only thing keeping them from falling prey to a stalker's deadly schemes.

My Review: Bodyguard Reunion by Margaret Daley

Chloe Howard and T.J. Davenport were a couple nine years ago but family oblations and careers got in the way. They each went their separate ways, only to find themselves working together to protect Paul and Mary Zimmerman. As the author’s go on a book tour they meet danger at every corner. The Zimmerman’s lives are turned up side down and Chloe and T.J. are thrown together doing their best to leave the past in the past and be professionals. Bodyguard Reunion is part of the Guardians Inc. Series but is also a stand along book. The author Margaret Daley does an outstanding job of incorporating the Christian message into the story line. Bodyguard Reunion is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat with mystery and action around every corner, and a touch of romance will have your heart melting. If you are anything like me you will have a difficult time putting this book down. It is well written, with heartwarming characters. I highly recommend this book. I give it 5 stars and can’t wait to find the other books in the series I missed.

The Baby Rescue, Book 2 in Witness Protection by Margaret Daley

The Baby Rescue, Book 2 in the Witness Protection Series by Margaret Daley
Review of The Baby Rescue by Margaret Daley.

Book Description:

OPERATION BABY RESCUE
To rescue an abducted infant from a baby-smuggling ring, U.S marshal Colton Phillips has to work with FBI agent Lisette Sutton. But their tactics couldn't be more different. The too-pretty agent goes by the book, whereas Colton breaks rules to get the job done. Colton vows to keep his heart out of the job, but his unwanted attraction to Lisette lowers his guard. Now Lisette—and an innocent child—are in grave danger, and Colton will stop at nothing to save them.
Witness Protection: Hiding in plain sight
My Review:

US Marshal Colton Phillips is working a protection detail for low life Don Saunders when FBI agent Lisette Sutton joins his team. They are frantic to stop a baby smuggling operation. Don Saunders does not seem to be all he claims he is. This cause both the FBI and the Marshall’s to wonder if they need to protect him or watch his every move. Things seem to go wrong at every turn. Having totally different work ethic, Colton is a the type to do whatever it takes to get the job done while, Lisette is strictly by the book, it came as quite a surprise when they found themselves drawn to each other. Having been hurt in the past Colton seems stand offish, can Lisette bring down his walls? Read this wonderful book to see if they put a stop to the operation before Baby C and Lisette are hurt.

This is a great book with intense suspense, a little romance and a compelling story line.

The Baby Rescue is a must read with twist and turns sure to keep you at the edge of your seat. But be warned you may not be able to put it down. The author Margaret Daley did an outstanding job brining this book to life, with respectable, dependable, faith filled characters. This book is well written, seems well researched and believable. Although this book is part of a series it can be read alone. I have not had the opportunity to read others and had no problem following alone. Waiting for the next book in the series is going to be a challenge. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves fast paced suspense with romance and faith. I give The Baby Rescue 5 stars.

I want to give a high-five to the author Margaret Daley and publisher Love Inspired Suspense for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and I am so grateful for their, the authors and publishers generosity.

About the Author: Margaret Daley Image of Margaret Daley

Margaret has been writing for over 30 years. She started writing in the late 1970s because she wanted to see if she could put a whole story down on paper. That book is still in the drawer and will never see the light of day. But she was able to finish a book, which was her goal.

She decided after that to get some help, and joined a writers' roundtable where she met once a week with some fellow writers who went over each other's work. She sold her first book in the early 1980s and has been selling ever since.
She loves to tell a story. When she was a little girl she made up stories while playing with her dolls. On long trips with her family she would weave a story about the surrounding countryside. From those early beginnings grew a love of entertaining people with a story.

When she went away to college, she met her husband, Mike, to whom she has been married for over 40 years. He is her support and her best friend. She has always felt she was the luckiest woman the day she bumped into him on campus.
When they married, they moved to Tulsa, where she finished her degree in special education and began teaching. She loved teaching and working with students with special needs. They helped her remember what is important in life. She also participated in the Special Olympics as a coach with her students and has attended the State Games in May for years. Recently she retired from teaching to write full-time.

Besides teaching and writing, she is also a mother of one. Her son, Shaun, loves animals and there have been times they could have their own zoo at the house. The most interesting pet Shaun had is a leopard tortoise, which could outlive him. She has joked that his children will be inheriting a tortoise. He is married with four daughters.

When she isn't working, she loves to read, travel, and go to lunch and a movie with a friend. She has been to many countries in the world and loves to meet new people. Her favorite place is Tahiti -- Bora Bora. It is as beautiful as all the pictures portray it.

In her travels she has found herself in some interesting situations. Once, in London, she got caught in the middle of a protest that later turned into a riot over poll taxes. In the rain forest of Costa Rica, she was covered from head to toe in mud and ruined a perfectly good outfit. She should have remembered it was going to be wet since it was called a rain forest. In Rio, she and a friend were left with no means to get back to the hotel on the other side of the city. Neither Margaret nor her companion spoke Portuguese and there wasn't a cab in sight. Thankfully one finally pulled up to the curb at the museum because she couldn't see herself hiking across Rio to get back to the hotel at night.
