UNFORESEEABLE: BOOK THREE IN THE ROAD TO KINGDOM SERIES,
Unforseeable by Nancy Mehl http://www.amazon.com/Unforeseeable-Road-Kingdom-Nancy-Mehl/dp/0764209299/ref=pd_sim_b_4by Nancy Mehl
Callie Hoffman knows she has a good life in Kingdom, Kansas. She's thrilled to be engaged to Levi Housler, the new pastor of Kingdom Mennonite Church, and she spends her days working with her friend and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Lizzie Housler, at Cora's Cafe.

However, Callie's idyllic life is interrupted when a body is discovered on the road outside Kingdom and the deceased turns out to be a victim of a serial killer. As Washington County's new sheriff begins questioning Kingdom residents, Callie and the rest of the town are appalled at the prospect of a killer among them. The very reason Kingdom exists is to protect the people from the temptations and dangers of the outside world, but all the town founders' attempts to plan ahead couldn't prevent a threat like this.

Unsettled at this unforeseen danger, Callie is concerned when it appears Levi knows more than he's telling. Desperate to find answers for herself, Callie never expected that she'd have to face some of her own past's skeletons.

As Callie and the residents of Kingdom fear this danger for which they never planned, they must learn anew that only God knows the future and their trust must always lie in Him.

My review of Unforseeable: Unforeseeable, Road to Kingdom Series by Nancy Mehl
Callie Hoffman has loved Levi Housler since grade school but thought he had never noticed her. She is now newly engaged to him. Levi is the newly appointed Mennonite pastor, some parishioners think he is to young to be pastor. It seems a serial killer has targeted their secluded community. "Murder and meatloaf just don't go together," Lizzie grumbled in the restaurant Callie was employed at. Can the newly appointed Sherriff protect the people of Kingdom? It seems not when the killer gets too close. Now they are pointing fingers at Levi. Callie has noticed some changes in Levi and she is questioning his love. Will they survive this test? The author Nancy Mehl has done a magnificent job keeping me guessing as to who has done it. She has interweaved faith among the action and suspense of this Christian Romantic Suspense Fiction. This is the third book in her Road to Kingdom series, I know if you pick it up you will enjoy it as much as I have.

Nancy Mehl has been a writer for over twenty years. The author of fourteen books, with two scheduled to be released in 2013. She was first published in 2001. You will find a little something extra special in Nancy’s books, she shares a little of her faith. Her and hubby Norman call Wichita, Kansas home but hope to join their son and his family in Missouri soon. Every good author needs a muse to inspire and help with all their writing and work that goes on behind the scenes. Nancy is no different her muse just happens to have four legs and a tail, her puggle Watson. I had to know more about her furry friend,Watson, so I asked if she could share a little about him. Her reply was, "Watson, Oh, my. He's a special little boy. There are things he absolutely hates: Plastic bags, tin foil and flies. I don't understand the first two, but I'm with him on the last one. He doesn't like anyone to touch ANYTHING that belongs to him. His toys, his crate or his leash. He LOVES going for walks, doggie treats and his people. That's what we are, you know. The truth is, we don't own him. He owns us."

Nancy Mehl is a fairly new author to me. I stumbled upon one of her books about a year or so ago. Although I have not had the pleasure of reading all her books, the ones I have read gave me courage to grow, inspired greater faith and gave the feeling of walking with the characters. I have really enjoyed getting to read her books and getting to know her. I am lucky to call Nancy a friend and sister in Christ.

I was able to ask Nancy what her favorite scripture was and she said "I love all scripture, but one of my favorites is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I love this because so many people don't realize that they are special to God. God has a plan for all of us as individuals, and NO ONE can fill our role the way we can. I use my writing to encourage people to seek God's will for their lives. His plans are always exciting and fulfilling!" When asked how God has worked in her life lately, she said, "God works in my life every day. He's amazing! One example: Even though I wanted our house to sell earlier this year, he made us wait. Although it was frustrating, now I see why He did that. The timing is perfect in so many ways. He is so good!"

God uses each of us everyday in some way or somehow, but I was cuourious as to how he uses her as a writer and author. She told me, "I think God uses me to encourage people - to let them know they're not wandering generalities. They are unique, special, and loved."

If you have not had the oppertunity to read one of Nancy Mehl's books you are really missing out. You need to check out the first two in The Road to Kingdom series, Inescapable and Unbreakable.  She also has some other great books available.

Take to heart the information you are receiving about ovarian cancer so you know what signs to watch for. Annabelle Curtis is portrayed as a woman of courage. Annabelle Curtis

Raw Edges Quilts of Love Series

Sandra D. Bricker

Annabelle Curtis loves her beloved Florida Aquarium where she is employed. She is a member of the Ovacome support group. Ovacome is much more than just a support group. They are crucial in helping raise public awareness of ovarian cancer. Through awareness, education and support, Ovacome gives hope to the thousands of women affected and advocates for better testing and treatment. Annabelle became a member of the group in her Dark Days—a term she used to describe the five months and six days between the initial diagnosis at the young age of thirty-four and the day that her oncologist broke out the long-awaited “cancer-free” stamp of approval. A complete hysterectomy may have ended her chances of becoming pregnant but not her dream of being a mom. She met Gray and his daughter Sadie at a special meeting for the memory quilt project at Ovacome. Right from the beginning sparks were flying. Gray noticed her blonde curls and green eyes. She made note of his salt-and-pepper hair and his striking blue eyes. As progress was made on the quilt their feeling for one another grew. Annabelle had a special place in her heart for both Gray and Sadie.

Man's Best Friend as a Healer

According to an article on The Mayo Clinic website man’s best friend can be a healer. Scientific research shows that pets can also make us healthy, or healthier. Animal-assisted therapy is a growing field that uses dogs or other animals to help people recover from or better cope with health problems, such as heart disease, cancer and mental health disorders. I am a firm believer that having a pet makes me a happier person. I feel every person going through a life changing illness should have a furry friend to help them through the rough spots. Because I adore animals and know the comfort and enjoyment I find as pet owner I asked Sandra D. Bricker if she could share a few things about Sophie, her beloved dog. She said this, “Sophie is a strawberry blond collie mix who started out pretty tragically in life. I had just lost my 16-year-old sheepdog (Caleb) to bone cancer, and I was in no way ready to give my heart to another dog. But Sophie needed a home, and I guess God knew I needed a roommate. It took us a little while to warm up to our situation, but you sure wouldn't know it now. She's my best bud, and I don't like to even imagine my life without her in it.”

52 Ways to Grow Your Faith will do what it says and give you freedom. Your spiritual growth strategy does not have to be limited to reading and praying. Try growing spiritually while walking, driving or working out. 52 Ways to Grow Your Faith will jump-start a stalled faith, provide a road map for a new faith, and energize an active faith. Use this resource with friends in a weekly study group or on your own - but get ready to grow and connect with God in a busy, noisy world.

Gregg Peter Farah is a Pastor at Shelter Rock Church, a multi-site congregation on Long Island, NY. He is married to Janine and they have three amazing daughters. As a family, they started Mosaic Manhattan Church (now Lower Manhattan Community Church), established 2003, in the heart of Lower Manhattan, blocks away from the World Trade Center site.

My review of  52 Ways to Grow Your Faith by Gregg Peter Farah
This is a great little book to help us grow closer to God. I found the ideas, practical and easy to use. Each chapter includes a growth idea, scripture, devotion, quote from someone else, tips on how to apply this to your life, a real story from someone that has tried it and a short prayer. The ideas are simple and helpful enough to use in Bible studies and teachings. I plan on implicating a few in my everyday life and sharing them with my Bible study group. This book was well planned and thought out. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting more out of their relationship with God. It does not matter if you are a new Christian or have served God for many years; there is something for every one. I challenge you to pick it up and read it for yourself. I want to thank the author Gregg Peter Farah and Carpenter’s Son publishing for bringing good Christian books like this for readers like me. I would also like to thank The Book Club Network Inc. for providing me with this book in exchange for my review

Raw Edges, Quilts of Love Series by Sandra D. Bricker

Sandra D Bricker

For more than a decade author, Sandra D. Bricker lived in Los Angeles. While working as a screenwriting, personal assistant and publicist to some of daytime television's biggest stars. When her mother became ill, like a Godly daughter she dropped everything and moved across the counrty to become her Caregiver.

Sandra is the real McCoy. She is an ovarian cancer survivor dedicating her life and work to raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. Not only is she generous with her time but she also donates a portion of her proceeds from her Summerside Press devotionals to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Raw Edges

Grayson McDonough has no use for teal ribbons, 5k runs, or ovarian cancer support groups now that his beautiful wife Jenna is gone. But their nine-year-old daughter Sadie seems to need the connection. When Annabelle Curtis, the beautiful cancer survivor organizing the memory quilt project for the Ovacome support group, begins to bring out the silly and fun side of his precious daughter again, Gray must set aside his own grief to support the healing of Sadie’s young heart. But is there hope for Gray’s heart too along the way?

My review of Raw Edges

A brilliant story about the loss cancer causes. In preparation of her final days Jenna McDonough writes a journal for her daughter Sadie. This treasure is full of words to give peace, inspiration and love, a keepsake that will be treasured forever. Her husband Gary faithfully reads it to her. After the passing of her mother, Sadie and her father receive an invitation to attend an ovarian cancer support group meeting. Gary goes with her because he knows it may help. There they meet a great group of ladies preparing to make a memory quilt. By attending, Gary got more than he could have imagined. There he meets Annabelle Curtis, a cancer survivor, organizing the memory quilt project for the Ovacome support group. Somehow she gets both him and Sadie involved in the project. This story gives hope to the grieving. The author Sandra Bricker will have you laughing out loud, crying and smiling throughout the whole book. I especially loved the journal and the scripture it had, I thought this was a wonderful gift to leave behind for our loved ones. The death of a loved one is hard enough, but to me is even harder when you leave behind young children. This book touches on many painful and joyful things we experience with loss, feelings of grief, raising children as a single parent, moving on in life, and dating. As cancer touches many of our lives this book will give hope and inspiration to the hurting. I highly recommend this book. Sandra D. Bricker touched some tough subjects with sensitivity, grace and integrity. To think a book on such a hard subject could have a blessedly happy ending.

I was able to ask Sandra D. Bricker a few questions. The first one was, how has God worked in your life lately? She told me, "I'm in the process of another upheaval in my life at the leading of the Holy Spirit. Like all those years ago when I felt the call to leave L.A. and move to Florida to care for my mom, a few months ago I got a similar call on my heart to leave Florida and move back to Ohio. I'm a lot older now (and a lot more tired!), so picking up my life and moving it again is NOT something I'm excited about. But at the end of the tunnel, I know that if He called me to it, there's a light awaiting." I love the answer she gave when she was asked how does God use her as a writer? "I hope in any way He chooses! But I've been blessed to meet and hear from so many people who have found my books to be just what they needed at just the time they needed it. Even if that's just a laugh in a moment when they don't think they can, or a message that speaks to their heart... I really believe that scripture that says a merry heart does good like medicine, and my greatest heart's desire is to fulfill that purpose."

Sandra D. Bricker is the author of the Another Emma Rae Creations series Always the Baker, Never the Bride. She has also written If the Shoe Fits , Be Still...and Let Your Nail Polish Dry, Delight Yourself in the Lord...Even on Bad Hair Days. If you are a fan of Christian fiction and humor these are the books for you. Sandra Bricker will have you laughing out loud.

Out of desperation her mother directs her to her biological father Dr Thomas Reeves, who can only be described as a mad scientist. His research and neural brain grafts alters memory and gives photogenic memory and super powers to soldiers. But something has gone horribly wrong now these powerful men he used as willing guinea pigs are angry and searching for answers. Morgan and Tyler are caught in the crosshairs of their deadly mission. Read this great book to see if their marriage can survive and if they find mercy at the hands of kidnappers. Can Dr Thomas Reeves redeem himself and stop the very research that has given him fame and fortune. This is a must read if you enjoy Christian fiction, suspense and action. It is a book that is fast paced and will be hard to put down. I highly recommend this book and the fist two in the series. I have had the pleasure of reading the first two books in this trilogy; any can be read as a stand alone book. Jordyn Redwood’s knowledge as an ER nurse is evident in her writing and her faith shines brightly.

Winter in Full Bloom by Anita Higman

Winter in Full Bloom a novel by Anita Higman

Wow what I journey this book will take you on. The author Anita Higman gives such vivid descriptions, that you can not help but feel like you are in the mist of the story.

Lily Winter has lived a hard life. She has endured the hardship of being raised by a cruel mean unloving mother. She has lost her father and husband but clings to her dear sweet daughter, whom she loves and adores. After a nasty confrontation with her estranged mother Lily finds out she has a twin sister she never knew about. So her journey begins and takes her to Melbourne Australia in the search of her long lost sister Camille. There she meets American Marcus Averill; he is charming, strange, funny, gentle. Like Lily, Marcus has lived through tough times. Together they face life’s toughest challenges, forgiveness, redemption and the quest for acceptance and love. Anita Higman is a fairly new author to me, I have not read many books by her but the few I have read I have really enjoyed. I highly recommend this book; it is a Christian fiction with a little romance.

Prayer for the Devil by Dale Allen

This book is outstanding. It is full of action, mystery, political intrigue. My curiosity was piqued at the title. You have the Catholic faith, the Jewish faith and the faith of the Muslim represented in one suspenseful book. Twin brothers Father Luke and Aaron Miller are as different as their faith. Luke followed his mother’s Catholic faith and Aaron follows his father’s Jewish heritage. Aaron is a political campaign manager for the up and coming presidential candidate. He is killed alone with other political and religious leaders in a terrorist bombing. Father Luke decides to find his brothers murder when the local police and FBI fail. He finds help in unlikely characters, two homeless men, the adopted brother and sister of a terrorist, the wife of a political leader, sister of a Muslim leader killed and the Vatican. His quest for answers takes him half way around the world, to Dubai, in the Middle East. Father Luke’s search has the potential to change lives, from the homeless, to his family and the families of others killed with his brother. His quest for revenge puts into question his true commitment to the priesthood, and the pull of right and wrong in the name of justice. The author Dale Allen writes in a believable fast paced style that will draw you in and have you coming back for more. This is the only book I have read by him but will surely read anything else he writes. I highly recommend this book, as being of a Christian, political thriller nature that is clean, without dirty scenes or foul language. I would like to thank BookFun.org, the author Dale Allen and publisher for this book in exchange for my honest option. I give this book 5 stars.

Poision Jordyn Redwood

Poison the Second book in the Bloodline Trilogy
by Jordyn Redwood

Poison is a Christian fiction medical suspense. If you are searching for a novel with intrigue, a fast paced plot that will keep you on your toes then this is the book for you. Lucent’s return to Keelyn’s life is no hallucination this time. As she fights to stay alive and keep her half sister Raven’s daughter Sophia safe she is faced with the fact her fiancĂ©e Lee has a secret. Will it tear them apart? Lee was part of the SWAT team that brought down Keelyn’s step father John Samuals after he murdered half her family. One by one those who were instrumental in bringing John Samuals down are facing death by contracting a mysterious illness. Jordyn Redwood’s knowledge as an ER nurse is evident in her writing. As the story goes on, dishonesty, murder, and deadly illnesses is around ever corner. Who can Keelyn believe, who can she trust, and where might Raven be. If you have not read the first book in the Bloodline Trilogy, Proof then it is must read. Keelyn’s story kept me at the edge of my seat with action around every corner. I give her five stars for one of the best medical thrillers out there. If you are a fan of Candace Calverts novels then you will love Jordyn Redwoods novels.
